About Us
The Radio Network through our Newstalk ZB, Classic Hits and Radio Sport stations have provided the radio cancellation service
for over 25 years. We have built strong partnerships with councils who manage the grounds, and the various bodies who administer
the sports and cultural organisations. Our cancellation broadcasts are an iconic part of New Zealand culture, and this accurate, reliable information is now able to be delivered direct to you via email or text.
Up to the minute technology developed for Cancellations on Demand enables you to join for free, receive free email cancellations,
or opt in to receive the information via text.
Cancellations on Demand – What is it?
Sports games have been going on for years – but there’s nothing more frustrating than when circumstances arise forcing you to
cancel or postpone games. It could be anything from wet weather to ground closures, but whatever the reason, Cancellations On
Demand is now here to assist your club in making sure all parties are notified of plan changes.
No more early-morning scrambles to ring around and tell everyone the match is off – Cancellations On Demand will do it for
you! It’ll digitally deliver the information directly to the team members via e-mail (no cost) or text message (50cents
per message). Sorted!

Then what?
Each club has three levels:
- Club Administrator – this person from the sports club holds the privilege of being able to send messages
to all members of all teams within the club
- Team Manager – this person from a sports team WITHIN a club holds the privilege of being able to send
messages to all members of their particular team
- Team Player – unable to send any messages themselves but is able to receive messages of interest sent by
club officials.
I have a cancellation. What do I do?
A registered club official must sign in to Cancellations On Demand and creates a message to be sent to the
team of interest. This message is then e-mailed to all team members concerned and texted to those who are
registered for the SMS service. This can also be used as a base for all team communication such as team
activities, practice sessions, transfers, social occasions and more.
What’s in it for you?
- A great way to keep your team organised in the digital age
- TRN are offering 50% of our earnings from text messaging back to the sports at regional level, based
on the amount of usage by clubs in that area.
